Fibromyalgia Pain Relief Using the Feldenkrais Method
When you suffer from fibromyalgia pain it hurts to be touched.
Fibromyalgia is characterized by persistent pain in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons that radiates throughout the body for at least 3 months. Classic symptoms include chronic muscle pain in the neck, shoulders, and back, as well as dull aches and discomfort in the soft tissues behind the head, between the shoulder blades, and around the hips, knees, and elbows.
Though it is more common in women, fibromyalgia pain has no specific cause or cure. It may be triggered by traumatic stress or a sudden injury. It may be genetic or related to an abnormal sensitivity to pain signals in the brain. Associated symptoms include generalized muscle stiffness, insomnia, extreme fatigue, anxiety and/or depression.
