Feldenkrais Pain Relief in San Diego

Move with ease. Feel like yourself again.

When pain becomes part of daily life, everything feels harder — moving, thinking, even resting. You deserve a way forward that’s gentle, intelligent, and grounded in how your nervous system actually works.

At The Feldenkrais Center of San Diego, I help people reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore comfort through mindful, science‑based movement.

A Different Approach to Pain Relief

I’m Lori Malkoff, MD, MPH, a retired physician with over 40 years of experience in movement, pain, and functional recovery. I use the Feldenkrais Method® to help your body relearn efficient, comfortable patterns of movement — without force, strain, or pushing through pain.

This work is quiet, precise, and deeply effective. It meets you exactly where you are.

After decades in medicine, I’ve seen how powerful gentle, intelligent movement can be in restoring comfort and confidence.

Why Feldenkrais Works

Pain often reflects how the nervous system has adapted to injury, stress, or long‑term habits. Feldenkrais helps you:

  • Reduce unnecessary muscular effort

  • Improve coordination and balance

  • Restore natural, efficient movement

  • Calm the nervous system

  • Move with less pain and more confidence

It’s gentle enough for people in significant pain and powerful enough to create lasting change.

Who I Help

People come to me when they’re dealing with:

  • Chronic pain

  • Back, neck, or shoulder issues

  • Joint stiffness or limited mobility

  • Post‑injury recovery

  • Balance or coordination challenges

  • Movement anxiety or fear of re‑injury

  • “I’ve tried everything and nothing helps”

If you’re tired of being in pain, this work offers a new path.

What a Session Feels Like

Sessions are quiet, slow, and deeply attentive. You remain fully clothed and comfortable.

I use gentle, precise touch and guided movement to help your nervous system discover easier, more efficient options. Most people feel calmer, lighter, and more organized after the very first session.
