Lori L. Malkoff, MPH

Lori L. Malkoff, MPH

I have always loved school and learning. I was accepted to the Pre-Med program at UC Irvine while 16 years of age. In 1980, I earned a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences at Irvine with cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. I completed my Medical Degree at UC Irvine in 1985. I took my post-doctoral training in Family Medicine at UCLA, and earned a Master of Public Health degree at San Diego State University's Graduate School of Public Health in 2002.

My current practice is unique, and NOT a traditional medical practice. I did not learn the Feldenkrais Method of physical therapy in the 1980’s in Medical School. Nor was Feldenkrais mentioned in my UCLA residency training. Becoming a Feldenkrais practitioner involved completing and graduating from a 4-year training program. My program was directed by Mark Reese, PhD, and I was certified in mid-1998.

I have taken additional post-doctoral training in the fields of physical medicine, rehabilitation, neuroscience, psychology, and nutrition. Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health and Fitness Instructor, I am also one of very few Medical Doctors in the U.S. to be trained as a Feldenkrais Teacher and Practitioner. Specializing in acute and chronic pain relief and providing pain treatment for seniors, athletes, and children, Lori Malkoff has owned and operated her sole-proprietorship, private practice for 33 years.

Visits are by appointment only

I am happy to see you regardless of insurance coverage. Visit frequency is typically once or twice weekly, and most people with only mild pain enjoy significant pain relief from a single session! Those with moderate to severe pain are usually discharged from regular care within 2-4 weeks.

Payment is expected at the time of service.  I accept cash and personal checks.  Lori Malkoff does not participate in the MediCare or MediCal programs, nor is she a preferred provider for any insurance plans. Insured parties file all insurance claims.

Fees: New clients enjoy a 90-minute appointment for $200. Return visits last a minimum of one hour, and are $150.

Please cancel in advance any appointment you cannot keep. There is a charge for appointments cancelled without 24 hours advanced notice. The private business phone is answered seven days a week, 24 hours a day. E-mail is always available. Please leave a brief message, and I will return all correspondence by days end. Contact me promptly with any questions or concerns regarding your visits and care plan.

The referral of family and friends is the highest compliment I can receive!
